Capsule Collaboration with Erin Loechner

We are excited to announce our capsule collection with patterns designed by Erin Loechner, creator of Design for Mankind!  This special print collection will be a limited run of her unique "Z" print and will be on pre-sale starting at 5pm Pacific Time on October 1st. 

We choose Erin for our very first Capsule Collection because we admire her attitude, her style, and follow her all over the web!  She is an incredible do-it-all woman (business woman, mom, wife, etc) who we felt would understand the value of Lunya's amazing products.  It turned out to be a dream match!  Check out our SHOP too see the fabulous limited edition capsule collection.

What is your secret for balancing life, love and work?

Oh goodness; there's never a secret is there? I think, sometimes, it’s easy to approach this topic on too singular of a level. Sure, each day will not be completely balanced between equal parts work and play and family and friends and give and take. There are busy seasons where takeout night is every night and there are lulls where family walks and afternoon picnics are finally doable. And that’s the balance, oddly enough. Because the complete lack of balance in each day is precisely what causes complete balance in the long run.I suppose that’s a tangent to say that – while I don’t believe in perfect balance – I do believe in unwavering priorities. And when you know which plates hold the most weight (for me, it’s my faith and my family and then my work), then you can better know which ones to drop and which ones to let spin for a bit longer.


How would you describe your personal style?

I'm a firm believer in everyday basics with a touch of visual interest, so I rely pretty heavily on a uniform of quality linen tees, boyfriend jeans and modern, artisan jewelry. I prefer personal style over fashion, so I'm always inspired by finding different ways to wear the same thing, whether it's changing the way you cuff your favorite jeans or switching out your shoes to alter a look.



What does your typical morning routine look like?

My alarm rings at 4:45am (I'm a morning person!) and my dogs immediately jump off the bed for their breakfast. It's Pavlov - literally. I give the dogs some food and love, then hop in the shower to sneak out of the house before the rest of my family wakes up. I'm an incredibly well-versed in tiptoeing by now. :) I then head to my local coffee shop to get my day in order before a morning yoga session.


W hat does your typical day look like?

I'm very routined, so it generally involves a good mix of work/emails (unless it's a weekend!), yoga, playdates with my toddler, errands, dinner prep, neighborhood walks, bath time and falling into bed with a great book. Sometimes we'll throw in a photo shoot or two, or an impromptu road trip getaway. But on a day-to-day basis, we keep things fairly simple around here! We love your energy and how it reverberates through everything you do.


What are your tips for keeping a positive outlook?

Oh, you are so kind - thank you for the encouragement! I very much subscribe to this truth from a favorite Bible verse I memorized as a kid: "...whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things." It doesn't come naturally for me, so I sometimes have to stop listening to my thoughts and start telling my thoughts what to listen to.

What women do you most admire?

I admire women who aren't afraid to serve - who work without complaining and strive to offer their time and talents as selflessly and graciously as they can. I admire women who set boundaries and practice gratitude and offer encouragement, who are quick to share the spotlight or attribute their blessings to something outside of themselves. I consider myself very loved to know many women who fit the mold above and am constantly taking notes from them!


What is your "must have" for a good night sleep?

Ha, I'm the world's best sleeper. I can sleep anywhere, anytime, anyhow. My family still jokes about the time I fell asleep in a dinner plate of spaghetti when I was 5. So while I don't have any must-haves, I do love a really, really dense feather pillow and some lavender spray. Also, white sheets! Always.


What is your favorite thing to do in bed... besides sleep?

Ha! I can't say; I'm blushing!
